Overview
The portal is used by both MMI employees as well as external job seekers who wish to apply for positions at MMI Holdings.
Problems
- An overwhelming user journey to apply for a job
- Too much information on a single step
- Out-dated UI
- No company branding
- The app is used by a wide range of users, from advanced to illiterate computer users
- Support calls currently received are for really basic issues, which could be rectified by design changes
What I did:
UX - Understand users and the application
I went through the end to end journey with the Business Analyst and Support Consultant. I also reviewed all common support call issues.
With everything in mind, I designed a new process that split up steps so that the process would be less overwhelming.
UI - Design user-friendly journeys
The company branding was applied to the user interface, which instantly gave the application a better look and feel and also sorted out issues such as button hierarchy and user guidance.
